The graphs below show the seasonal profiles of malaria in southern Africa and are based on data from the Ministries of Health and complied by the National Malaria Research Programme. These are supplied to act as a guideline for travellers as to when the risk periods are. The figures clearly show that Malaria in southern Africa is highly seasonal and that the winter period constitutes a low risk period.
