Knowledge attitudes and practices (KAP) studies
Knowledge attitudes and practices surveys have increasingly been identified as an important component of malaria control and elimination activities. A number of countries have already conducted KAP surveys, of which some have used the results to inform their information, education and communication (IEC) strategies and malaria health promotion plans.

- In Swaziland, KAP surveys were used to provide baseline information for Swaziland Malaria Elimination Communication and Advocacy Plan 2009 – 2013
- In South Africa, a number of health promotion materials were developed following knowledge gaps identified through KAP surveys
